Which hotel is better? ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel or Pacific Beach Hotel??

We will be going Early June 2008. We are a young couple but we are not into clubbing or bar scenes, we want to see all of the sights and beaches. Thanks for the help!Which hotel is better? ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel or Pacific Beach Hotel??
Resort Quest Waikiki is the former Aston Waikiki. We have stayed there; rooms are clean and cute decor but rather small (no biggie as we spend our time OUTDOORS rather than in the room, anyway) and there is valet parking so expect to have to tip. Usually takes about 15 minutes for them to bring your vehicle up.

If you stay in the back building you do not get to partake in the free breakfast on the beach program (which was basically an insulated lunch kit, you grab what you want from the breakfast buffet and walk across the street to the beach.) Not familiar with Pacific Beach Hotel as we stayed at the other, but you might go to tripadvisor.com and read reviews.Which hotel is better? ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel or Pacific Beach Hotel??
Pacific Beach Hotel was great. We used it for our honeymoon. Just across the street from beach and in the middle of a large retail area with plenty of shopping for the wife and lots of nice restaurants. AND the aquarium in the bar and restaurant of the hotel was a great topic of discussion as we sat at breakfast every morning. Ask for a beach view room though and they are more expensive than the regular rooms were!
My husband and I have been to waikiki 3 times...the last time we stayed at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach - we booked one of their junior suites. It was a sweet room...we really liked it - but we tend to be on the thrifty side and I have to say that it was expensive. Their prices are pretty steep - parking $20 a day, internet $13 a day, I agree with some that you're barely going to spend time in your room - so keep that in mind before you splurge.

Here are a few sites that I am almost certain will help you...I personally used them for my trips:

http://www.sharinghawaii.com

(for advise, info about things to do, and tons of pics...this site in particular saved us money by telling us where to find alternative parking)

http://www.hawaiiconnection.com/

(where we booked that hotel...it was a real bargain for what it really goes for!)

Good luck and have tons of fun! Aloha!
I was right next door to the Resort Quest and let me tell ya, that place looked like A LOT of fun. Constant parties. Every morning you get woken up by beautiful music, puts you in the perfect ';Hawaii mood';. they must have free breakfast because from my balcony you could see the buffet area by the pool jam packed by 8am. I'd actually consider staying there my next trip.

Have you ever visited the Dominican Republic? Did you like it? Can you recommend beaches, hotels or restaurants?

Depends where in the country you go. This is not a tiny island you can pee across. As long as 10 hours between destinations driving with a hot foot and several ecosystems to chose from.

Pick a area and I would be happy to recommend everything you may want to see, taste and stay.Have you ever visited the Dominican Republic? Did you like it? Can you recommend beaches, hotels or restaurants?
The best region : Puerto Plata (north coast)

The best resort : (all depending your wallet)

Costa Dorada IBEROSTAR

Costa Maimon Riu Resorts

The best restaurant : depending your taste but the best of the best is in

El Castillo 1 1/2 drive from Puerto Plata near the 1st church of the new world ( Columbus) can be visited (also the restaurant) during the excursion

Isabela Historica ( 85US p.p incl restaurant!) for more info just mail me

Closest airport to Lahaina: Kaanapali beach hotel?

Whats the closest airport to Lahaina: Kaanapali beach hotelClosest airport to Lahaina: Kaanapali beach hotel?
The closest airport is the Kapalua West Maui Airport (JHM). But you can only fly to and from Oahu (Honolulu) using that airport. You cannot fly from the mainland to JHM. So if you want to arrive on Maui at JHM and be only 10 minutes away from you hotel, then you will have to fly from the mainland to Honolulu, and there change planes to fly from Honolulu to the Kapalua West Maui Airport. The airline that does this flight is Island Air, and the planes are two-engine propeller planes that carry up to 35 passengers.

For LOTS more info about Maui hotels, restaurants, sights, activities and more, see

http://www.mauihawaii.orgClosest airport to Lahaina: Kaanapali beach hotel?
Kapalua West Maui Airport (JHM): Approximate driving time to Kaanapali Beach Hotel is 10 minutes, and distance is 4 miles.
Listen to Webkinz....you want to go to OGG. It is not very far to Lahaina and I think that you can get the hotel to shuttle you to/from the airport. However, you may want to rent a car on the island....lots of things to do and see AND you will need a car for that!
You really want to go into OGG, Maui's main airport. It's not that big of an island, and most of the major airlines service OGG airport from the mainland. Hawaiian and Aloha service it from HNL almost every hour. It will only take you about a 45 minute, and very beautiful drive to Kaanapali beach from OGG.

Has anyone had or been to a wedding at the Rosarito Beach Hotel or anywhere in Rosarito area?

I am thinking of having my wedding in Baja California, Mexico next year. I'm looking at the Rosarito area because it's not too far from the border and it's very inexpensive. The Rosarito Beach Hotel seems to be one of the better options. I was also looking at Las Rocas and Calafia Hotel. However, I heard some not so great things about the rooms at Calafia on tripadvisor.com. I could really use some input here. I have never been so indecisive in my life! I will have a lot of people coming in and staying at the hotel and I just want my guests to have nice comfortable rooms. And of course, I want my wedding to be spectacular and memorable as well...but of course I don't want to break the bank...if I did, I would have it on the beach in California. :) Thanks for all your answers in advance. -KHas anyone had or been to a wedding at the Rosarito Beach Hotel or anywhere in Rosarito area?
I've been to both of these resorts and I think Las Rocas is your best choice, but the package at the Rosarito Beach hotel is certainly affordable! Another option might be to use a private villa, where you could also spend a few days. You'd likely need a local wedding planner for that, though... Glad you're passing on the Calafia - it does have some poor reviews. Any chance you could drive down there one weekend and look at them %26amp; then decide?Has anyone had or been to a wedding at the Rosarito Beach Hotel or anywhere in Rosarito area?
I would go with the calafia. It is romantic. I will be getting married there in 2 weeks!! A wedding planner also got married there and her wedding was a big success. the calafias weddings are more intimate and romantic. . I would not go with rosarito beach hotel it was not romantic at all.

Does anyone know the pricing at all 3 locations for about 130ppl? I too am planning my wedding and have been endlessly researching resorts and hotels in Rosarito or Puerto Nuevo that offer beachside weddings. If anyone knows the pricing info..please reply. Thanks a bunch!

    no
its a good idea...if you have it at night..rosarito during the daylight is not a pretty sight..its a very poor town..and its not a big place so rosarito hotel is nice whats next door or across the street can be scary looking..

Anybody can give information about Diamond Beach Hotel in pattaya,?

How can I reach Pattaya from AirportAnybody can give information about Diamond Beach Hotel in pattaya,?
Diamond beach Hotel is located in Soi Diamond. which is also just off Pattaya's popular Walking street.

I stayed there in 2007, the rooms were alittle run down and from my room it was quite noisy due to the nearby ago go's and bars playing music all night long.

    I paid 1200baht a night.

I would stay else where next time.

You can reach Pattaya from Bangkok airport by Taxi which should set you back between 1000-1500baht depending on your bargaining skills and time of day.

Anybody can give information about Diamond Beach Hotel in pattaya,?
My only objection is that this hotel is near the far end of the Pattaya Beach area. My preference is a hotel more centrally located off Pattaya Second Road (Pattaya Sai Song on map.)

With a hotel off or near Pattaya 2nd Road you can use the 10 baht baht bus to take you north on Pattaya 2nd Road or south on Beach Road. Various priced hotels off of Pattaya Second Road, lots of restaurants, bars, travel agencies for tours, easy walk to some malls and movie theaters. See map below.

You would only have to take a taxi if you arrive late at night. During the day and early evening hours you have several bus runs that go to Pattaya. Bell Travel Bus company leaves directly from the terminal (bottom level, door 7 or 8 near the down ramp.)

From the little bus station at the airport (need a free shuttle bus to get there) there are a few buses to Pattaya. The Bell Travel bus is was 150 baht 3 weeks ago and the other bus from the airport bus terminal is around 110 baht. Bus ride is usually less than 2 hours. If you arrive real late you can take the taxi, wait at the airport all night or go into town. You can get a cheap hotel and in the morning take a bus from the Ekamai bus terminal (off a Skytrain stop.)

    Good luck.

Before you book check here for the cheapest price:

    http://www.hotelscombined.com?a_aid=781b鈥?/a>

Also you can reach Pattaya by tax for 2000 baht. That's about the most expensive way. Otherwise you can go by bus and I'm sure you can find info on that at the airport, though the price may be more than usual if you use a tour operator from the airport. Shouldn't be more than 200 baht for a bus. If more than you are getting a bad deal. I used to get to Pattaya from Bangkok for about 100 baht on a bus but that's from the city and used by locals as well as tourists so it's cheaper.
Its a 4 stars hotel, walking distance to beach, shopping centres and Pubs and message parlors

  • St Augustine beach hotel recomendations anyone ? We would like to stay oceanview ?

Wow, there are lots of great places in St. Augustine -- Bed and Breakfasts, water-view places right near the fort, and places out on the beach.

So, if you definitely want to be out at the beach, then you'll want something on Anastasia Island. If you want to be near the historic sites, then stay in town.

Check out reviews on http://www.tripadvisor.com/ before you do anything. You can check out rates and rooms at http://www.resideo.com/us/florida/staugu鈥?/a>

Enjoy your trip!St Augustine beach hotel recomendations anyone ? We would like to stay oceanview ?
I would seriously look into one of the Bed and Breakfast Inns available in St. Augustine. They have so many - and they are Beautiful! We were married by an innkeeper at the Penny Farthing Inn ten years ago! There are some that are tucked away within the town and some that are right on the waterway. If you go to www.staugustine.com there is a link in the middle of the page that will take you to the Bed and Breaksfasts in St. Augustine with great pictures and information. Their food and ambience is spectacular and prices are very reasonable! And, almost everything in old downtown St. Augustine is within walking distance. A stay in one of the B%26amp;B's will beat a hotel anyday.

the hotel is literally opposite the beach in the centre of the main promenade.1 station is for national trains the other is for local trains i.e from the airport- this one is 5mins walk to the hotel
I lived in fuengirola all my life there is only the one station. The fuengirola beach hotel is behind a massive shoppng centre called the eroski centre. Nice hotel though. Fuengirola only has 1 train station, the renfe. It only goes to malaga, so unless you are going there you won't need it. To be honest you aren't really that near the station, as it is smack bang in the centre of fuengirola. It would take a good 25 mins walking. However there are buses and a taxi rank at the shopping centre. But you're just accross the road from the beach

Whats in like at the cosy beach hotel?

Hi everyone.. Going to be staying at the Cosy beach hotel in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could tell me what it was like there and some good places to go.. I've also been told its monsoon season, is there usually a lot of rain in august???

    any advise welcome..

    thanks,

samantha.Whats in like at the cosy beach hotel?
Do you mean Cosy Beach Hotel Pattaya.? If so it is on a hill between Pattaya and Jomtien. There are two buildings one with the sea view and smaller ones in the side wing with a crappy view of the car park. The hotel has a nice pool, swim up bar and garden with stairs leading down to a little beach .The breakfast was good but lots of people on the weekend ,so make sure you get up early then .They also do a romantic dinner by the pool. There are many shops, little restaurants in front of the hotel where you can eat and get cheaper beer .

On the negative side to get to town it cost 100 baht per person by songthow and 200 if you go or come back later at night.

You will probably get some rain as it is the rainy season but it shouldn't rain all day.

Cosy is not far from Pattaya view point,Big Buddha temple and Jomtien Beach.Whats in like at the cosy beach hotel?
It may depend on what you intend to do. If your intentions are to just hang out at the hotel and not go anywhere else then it will probably be okay.

However, if you intend to visit malls, street vendors, small shops, go clubbing or bar hopping - you know actually leave your hotel often - then another hotel may be a better choice! You are off the normal cheap baht bus route so you are usually screwed for cheap transportation.

My advice is if you want to walk to many places to just get a hotel in Jomtien (fewer bars) where you can swim at the beach or get a hotel in Pattaya City where you have more places to walk to but a beach you can not swim at (sunbathing, shopping, malls, movie theaters, restaurants, jogging, street vendors, etc. okay though.) Baht bus taxi service in Pattaya City is only 10 baht for set routes.

If you are comfortable with the price then find another place at the same price range where you can walk to most places and have a cheap ride.

    Good luck.

Yes it's not a bad hotel, just accross from maameltein sea side...at the entrance of the hotel there's a place where you can sit and watch the traffic or the sea...it's close to Jounieh and 30 min to Beirut if there is no traffic.

    Geography for 1st time visitors:

Most visitors want to stay on Miami Beach, a city on a barrier island of the same name off the coast of Miami %26amp; connected to it by several causeways. ';South Beach'; is the southernmost 2 miles or so of Miami Beach. It contains the best known beaches, shopping streets, restaurants, hotels, and the historic ';art deco'; district.

    Sobe hotels:

To be in the center of or within walking distance of the center of SoBe you want to stay somewhere below 23d street (address number under 2300) and on or within a block of Washington or Collins Aves., or Ocean drive. You won't need a car.

North Miami Beach is more condos and big resort hotels. South Beach is a designated historical site with smaller older hotels built in an art deco style. It is more walkable and cafes and bars line Ocean Drive in this area.

    South Beach is more ';trendy';.

All of Miami Beach is very expensive; I personally would check out the comments on www.tripadvisor.com as far as ratings for hotels. This site posts consumers' personal opinions about places they've stayed at, and the hotels are rated best to worst. I found The Park Central Hotel, in South Beach, on this site in the spring and was very pleased with it. Mid-price range but in a very cool neighbourhood.
go to tripadvisor and search for the Majestic hotel at south beach, I was just there and it is very well located (on ocean drive) and it was usd 70 /night! decent and clean.
north side is far and boring. south beach is where all the action takes place. i dont like catalina (sleeze) i would suggest pelican hotel on ocean drive

As about Ipsos, it's a seaside village, personally I prefer to stay in the town of corfu but if you wanna stay by the beach, the town is not the best choise for you.

Please answer : Royal Cliff Beach Hotel or Garden Cliff Hotel in Pattaya?

I have searched the net .........So please don't answer me according to searching in the internet

please tell me about your experience ...thanksPlease answer : Royal Cliff Beach Hotel or Garden Cliff Hotel in Pattaya?
My experience is that both of these places are far from Pattaya City center! I am more familiar with the Royal Cliff because Thai Air had an office there 10 years ago. From these areas, since you are in expensive places (expensive for Pattaya where a room with air, private toilet, TV and maid service starts around 400 baht) your transportation to Pattaya City may cost more than from other areas and there are fewer things you can walk to. Royal Cliff is a nice place, of the two, maybe slightly more remote.

If you simply want a nice place remote from city life and you have virtually no interest in walking to malls, street vendors, nightlife and a choice of restaurants and movie theaters - you can't find better places to hide at!

For about the same money you could take a look at Amari Orchard Resort, Siam Bayview (most central) and Marriott (mall attached,) even the Dusit Resort is better located. It depends on what you want to do! Look at the map below - where you see Central Road - that is about the center of Pattaya City. In Pattaya city transportation is only 10 baht!

A hotel at half the price of your two choices is still a very good hotel!

Good luck. Please answer : Royal Cliff Beach Hotel or Garden Cliff Hotel in Pattaya?
My personal experience for these hotels is from living in Pattaya; I'll tell you now, you will pay wayyyyyy too much. I've seen sooo many falangs book hotels over the internet without having ever stepped one foot in Thailand and then later regret it. Here's a piece of advice; book either one for 2-3 days over the internet, later when you get here if you like it (I doubt you will) you can extend your stay, those 2 hotels are NEVER filled to capacity. Meanwhile in those 2-3 days you can see other hotels and check out their rates/location/offers and proceed from there.

Been to Royal Cliff since I was young. It's an old hotel but really nice one. Don't know aobut the gargen cliff but off hand I would recommend Royal Cliff. It has its own private beach, over the mountain away from southern Pattaya where all the bars are. If you wanna go nightlife, it's south pattaya you would choose, but Royal Cliff is more European, better class and more expensive.
I have stayed last year.. nice hotel ...less people cuz quite isolated from city. nice bar which is just front beach http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels鈥?/a> G'day

Has anyone been to Nissi Beach hotel in Ayia Napa, Cyprus during peak times (eg. August)?

I am considering booking my annual holiday in Nissi Beach Hotel (Ayia Napa) but a little unsure due to Ayia Napa being a hotspot for clubbers. I am attracted to this particular hotel and beach (due to positive independent reviews) but want to avoid the rowdy crowds from the clubs and bars, I am looking for a relaxing time on the beach. Is this hotel separated from the main buzz of Ayia Napa?Has anyone been to Nissi Beach hotel in Ayia Napa, Cyprus during peak times (eg. August)?
Dude, nissi beach hotel is literally on the beach. The place there is packed!!!!! If you are coming here with friends then i suggest dont miss it. However, if you are planning comming with your girlfriend then just go to Protaras which is next to Ayia Napa and away from temtations. Also i would suggest dont spend your money on fancy hotels, just book a cheap one since most of your day will be spend on the beach or in the bars and clubs. Ayia Napa is well known for its nightlife. During August its the peak season and there is a lot of people there. As i have said before, if you are comming with friends then you will love it here. However, if you are coming with your girlfriend then go to Protaras, its more quite and has a great beach!!!

Disregard the media flicks about Burj al-Arab. There are many excellent hotels in Dubai, and you should not pay a fortune to stay. You still have to pay, but not as much as Burj al-Arab. Having said that, you will find that the best beach hotel in Dubai is Grosvenor House Dubai.
Burj Al Arab the most expensive hotel in the world. It is $50,000 for one night stay .
I agree Burj al arab or jumeirah beach, both are next door to each other
Burj Al Arab is meant to be the Best Hotel in the world and has a lot of hype!!!

Jumeirah Beach hotel is another great hotel right next to it. The best beach hotel, in my personal opinion, is Al Qasr. There are also a wide array of great hotels right at the beach

    Myrtle Beach hotel suggestion?

Need suggestions for a Myrtle Beach hotel. We want to be right in the middle of all the action and right on the beach. We want to park the car and forget about it for a few days. Must haves.. pool, bar, and all the usual boardwalk stuff. When it comes to sleeping though, we need it quiet. Any experienced vacationers with some good suggestions?Myrtle Beach hotel suggestion?
My favorite is the Palace. It's on the strand but it's probably a little too far south for what you want. The Patricia Grand is ';in the middle of the action'; as you put it - right across from the Pavilion if you know where that is. It has all the stuff you're looking for.

my very favorite is Holiday Inn at the Pavilion. It is right near the action and you can walk to the Pavilion which is in it's farewell season. And it is right by the Pier 14 bar where you have to see Robert Cooper sing in the evening and say hi to Brian the bartender.

This is a nice place and it usually has a great continental breakfast. Beware, you won't be parking the car because most of the attractions require you to drive.

Which South Beach hotel..close to beach and airport on budget?

My girlfriend and I are coming back from a trip to the Bahamas on Feb 1st and are staying only 1 night in Miami. We want to have this day to stay at south Beach. We were told that this is the SuperBowl weekend and most hotels are quite expensive. Bad choice to go to Patong during Songkran- over rated , over priced and over crowded.

Nightlife close's down at 2am - if you want to party during Songkran you should of gone to Pattaya ,Samui or even Chiang Mai

I have been 3 times to Phuket and Patong and each time I have been there I have been disappointed compared to other destinations in Thailand.

check out www.phuket.com and tripadvisor for what to see and what to do.

Have a wonderful time.Hi as any one stayed in sandy beach hotel patong?

Songkran is generally not as long of a festival in Phuket as in other parts of Thailand. But I still think you will have a great time during your stay %26amp; I wouldn't let a few naysayers ruin your trip (most of the major nightlife on Phuket is in Patong..so you've chosen a good location to party).

    Konkan

Konkan is a great area having a huge potential in terms of Industry, Tourism, Fruits and horticulture, Minerals, Fisheries etc. it is very strategically located between Mumbai the commercial capital of India and Goa the great tourism destination. It is lined with a large coastline making it strategically located for any global trade. Being located next to Mumbai, it is already enjoying spill over of Multi crore industry being located in Konkan. Reliance Industries with its petrochemical plant in Patalganaga, Birla鈥檚 Sponge iron plant near Dharmatar, Mittal鈥檚 Sponge iron plant at Dolvi, IPCL鈥檚 petrochmical plant at Nagothane, RCF鈥檚 fertilizer plant at Nhava Sheva, Hindustan lever鈥檚 detergent plant at Chiplun, JNPT one of the largest Port and growing very fast located at Nhava Sheva, Thane with all the Multinational pharmaceutical industries and large number of medium and small scale industries.

Konkan also has history and culture as old as Lord Parshuram and Shivaji. Konkan has natural beauty with lush green rice fields, mango orchards, Hills, thick forests, large coastline, beaches and Hill stations. Thus place is quite suitable for business tourism as well as short duration tourism (weekend escape), Resort based tourism, Hill station tourism, nature tourism.

Konkan Geography, Konkan History, Konkan Tourist Places, Konkan food and culture:

The Konkan is a coastal strip of land bounded by the Sahyadri on the east, and Arabian Sea on the west. It is a land where mythology breathes side by side with economic growth; a land with rich mineral resources, dense forest cover and a landscape fringed with paddy, coconut and mango trees.

The human creation of Konkan railway is the greatest event since lord Parshuram created the region. Konkan railway is the single biggest railway-engineering project in south Asia this century.

Konkan the landscape, carpeted with tropical forest, where Sambar roam and leopards arch their backs. Cast an eye-upon the miles of lush vegetation鈥?tamarind, bamboo, coconut, betel nut, cashew, jackfruit, and of course, the Alphonso mango of Ratnagiri. Hear the whisper of the history in the mountains; Raigad, where Roha is located, was once the stronghold of the 17th century Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and every stone has a story to tell. Listen to the music of the rivers 鈥?Savitri, Jagbudi, Vahishthi, and Shastri, among them; see the fisherman cast his lazy line into a stream or a buffalo cool off in the sun.

Konkan is a thin strip of land, about 720 km. At it鈥檚 widest between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats or the Sahyadri mountain ranges. Mythology says Lord Parshuram the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, created the region. After cleansing the world of evil-forces several times, he is said to have come and rested in Konkan, blessing the area with his presence. Little surprise then that the only Lord Parshuram temple in the country is found in Konkan, near Chiplun, in Maharashtra.

Its proximity to the Arabian Sea, especially the fact that several major and minor seaports to peninsular India fall in this region, has endowed Konkan with a rich-history and cultural heritage. This region- was the home to the first organised Indian Navy, set up by the great warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji saw the strategic importance of the-region and the need to have a strong navy to defend this long coastline from European invaders. He did that by setting up a naval force as well as by building strong sea forts along the coast. Some of these forts, like Vijaydurg, survive to this day, a testimony to his vision. Further proof of it importance Shivaji attached to Konkan, is the fact that the massive Raigad fort, which Shivaji made his capital, also guarded the trading route between Konkan and the hinterland.

The belt was for a long time the most important marine trading -center of India and has always had strong links with seafarers from the Middle East, Africa and Europe. These trading links have left their mark behind to this day and one finds an amazing mix of cultures and people here.

Konkan was also the area where Vasco Da Gama landed in 1498, leading a European onslaught that eventually led to the colonisation of India. Incidentally, spices, especially pepper, so attractive to early European traders, grow abundantly in the region. Blessed with fertile soil, and one of the highest rainfalls in the country 鈥?an average rainfall of 3,500 mm, - the region is rich with natural resources. It also has enormous mineral wealth, especially bauxite and silica sand.

Agriculture and industry flourished side by side in the Konkan, and it is a treasure-trove for tourists too. Now, the spectacular and rugged landscape will never be the same again. Konkan Darshan is going to change it forever.

The Konkan region is rich in mineral like iron ore, bauxite, silica sand aKindly recommend beaches %26amp; hotels %26amp; placed to see around the konkan belt in maharashtra?

HELP, I can someone tell me about barbados, christchurch, butterfly beach hotel ?

i am really freaked out i have booked this and any one i met is saying its terrible although trip advisor and other sources are giving me a mixed review has any one ever been and can the tell me the truch about crime and hassle in barbados HELP, I can someone tell me about barbados, christchurch, butterfly beach hotel ?
Butterfly Beach Hotel is located in Christ Church, so basically where you will be staying is on the south coast.

It is not like you will be staying in the hotel all the time so you should not be freaked out. People have opinions and they are entitled to their own. When you go and you like it, then great when other people go and some don麓t like it.

The truth is, the crime is low but it is possible that you may be approached on the beach i.e. to sell you something or try but I would advise that you ignore and act really busy. I also advise not to bring valuables on the beach but if you are with someone or a group, then make sure they are being watched. You must also be aware that most guys are all about games.

I have been to Barbados 8 times, even temporarily lived there so I know what guys are like besides my friends even guys warn.

Back to Butterfly Beach Hotel, the price is not so bad compared to most hotels. You can access to a big blue bus or yellow mini bus or even a route taxi although it is often crowded for only $1.50 BDS. Best thing is that it is not too far from the airport, by about 15-20 minutes.

You can walk to Oistins, a town known for its fishing. I believe they hold an event every weekend so that is some local nightlife but mainly, nightlife is seen in St. Lawrence Gap so you would have to take a bus/route taxi or whatever you like or even long walk. There is also nightlife in the city, Bridgetown on Bay Street i.e. The Boatyard, Harbour Lights.

Out of the city, there is Club Xtreme but not too far from St. Lawrence Gap. Now, about The Gap, not only it has clubs, it also has hotels, bars/restaurants and so on.

Hope this helps.HELP, I can someone tell me about barbados, christchurch, butterfly beach hotel ?
Barbados is a very beautiful place to visit with some of the most friendliest people. The beaches are public as the others said and lots of entertainment and night life.

Do not listen to others, come and experience it for yourself, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I believe that some of those same people that are saying those terrible things have not even been here.

As with any country including your own there is crime but just as you would do in your country do likewise. Take precautions; do not leave valuables exposed on the beach, vehicles or in rooms near windows especially to the roadside.

There are vagrants especially in the city that will come begging, just say no or don't answer at all and keep walking. There are also coral sellers that will approach you to buy. One especially is Richard that will attempt to put one around your neck, just be firm with him if you dont want any.

All in all, just be careful as anywhere else. Check out the youtube video and website below.

    Just enjoy your stay!
Rooms are basic and ther are quite a few hawkers in the area which can be aggravating. But if you are firm with them and are in a group then they'll go away. There isn't much crime on the hotel site but you have to be careful on the beach. Oistins isn't far away which is quite good for evening life, but again stay in a group if you can. Barbados is all about safety in numbers.
Well I have to say I've been to Barbados and spent a glorious 3 weeks there for the Windies - England Test in 2004.

I stayed in Christchurch at the Silver Sands Resort, it was great!

I didn't hear of ANY crime at all. There were a few Pot Sellers on the beach, but they never stepped over the line of the hotel grounds. There were security guards scattered all around the resort. One bar which was local (Christchurch is very residential) called the Sticky Wicket sold nice cold beer Banks beers but the owner was a mizog !.

Oistins , especially on a Friday night is WICKED ! Great fun , great atmosphere.

St Lawrence Gap is a good night out. Plenty of nightlife , great restaurants. The Beaches ALL around Barbados are superb.

YOU WILL LOVE IT. I did.

Like anywhere away from home, keep your wits about you and stay safe. NOWHERE is immune from crime, you just have to be careful. Antigua where the Mullaney couple were murdered - idyllic %26amp; very low crime. It is tragic that the incident is going to deter some people from going there.

    The Caribbean is Paradise.
You're staying on the South Coast so I'm not sure. We stay on the West Coast. If you read that silly review by Boggy she hasn't a clue what she's talking about, it's the lovliest of all the Carribean islands and all you need to do is some homework. Take the safari Cruise it's alot of fun and some beautiful sights and lots of rum punch. The island is small but beautiful to tour. The East coast around Bathseba is one of the most beautiful beaches and the cliff on the west coast is amazingly expensive but a fabulous rest with views to die for. Try to splurge one night if you can. Take a ride up to Mullins Beach or Gibbs and spend the day. Animal Flower Cave is amazing. Barbados is not the type of island you freak out about it's not like Dominican Republic or Jamaica. To find lower crime than Barbados you would rule out all the other islands which are much higher in crime. Did you know it has the highest literacy rate and no begging people like in St Lucia. Life is short, enjoy yourself. Stay away from Bridgetown(the city) it's typical big town carribean. Oh, unless you go to Brown Sugar Rest. We're going but staying on the West Coast at Schooner Bay Villas. Next time get a good Fodors or Fieldings and read up on low cost suggestions on the west coast. If you don't get around the island you'll miss most of the beauty!! It takes a 1/2 day. Try to see Sam Lords castle and Crane Beach . It shouldn't be too far and the beaches are gorgeous. Enjoy!!! Be yourself ... the Bajans are friendly and you'll enjoy. The water is gorgeous. Anywhere that many British and Europeans frequent has to be good. Your resort looks nice just get up to the north west and east of the island to really appreciate. The East Coast is beautiful but hard swimming while the west is tranquil enough to bathe a baby in. All the beaches are public so go hang out at Sandy Lane... it's free.

I'm going to pattaya in april and i was going to stay in the diamond beach hotel can anyone tell me about it?

i was just wondering if anyone has stayed there or what it is like ??I'm going to pattaya in april and i was going to stay in the diamond beach hotel can anyone tell me about it?
I have not stayed there. The link below are reviews by people who have stayed there recently on sawadee.com, a pretty reliable site.

    http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/pattaya/dia鈥?/a>

From what I saw on Sawadee.com it is right in the middle of the action. Just a short walk from the Walking Street. The rooms are adequate though there seems to be an occasional problem with roaches.

Have a great time.I'm going to pattaya in april and i was going to stay in the diamond beach hotel can anyone tell me about it?
Like mentioned previously, it's right where the action on Walking Street is. I've read many negative comments about the place including one that they had hidden cameras in the rooms. Story went that a guy was watching dances on the hotel TV channel and started mimicking the dancers moves. Next thing the dancers were mimicking his moves instead. When I go to Pattaya I stay at Welkom Inn, between Sois 2 and 3 toward the northern end of town. It's away from Walking Street but close to other action. Pattaya is a great place to visit, sure you will enjoy the trip.
If you like the night life it will suit you just fine, nearly on Walking St where people think all the action is.You will like Walking St but also go around to Second Rd and give a few of the bars there a try a lot cheaper than Walking St.Every time I go I have one night at Walking St for seafood dinner on the water, other wise I go to other areas.Have a good trip I am sure you will have a good time

Has anyone been to Krabi in Thailand, where did you stay? cant find operator or beach hotel?

we would like to go for our first wedding anniversary in september 2007, would the weather be ok?

also all the hotels seem to only do b%26amp;b how much will it cost to eat out every night?

thank youHas anyone been to Krabi in Thailand, where did you stay? cant find operator or beach hotel?
I have been to Krabi at around that time of year. We were travelling around the country a bit and we came to Krabi from Khao Sok National Park where we stayed in some treehouses (Arts Jungle House - highly recommended!)

We stayed in a pretty nondescript and very cheap guesthouse in Krabi, so I haven't got any reccommendations for Krabi town itself, except that its well worth visiting the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Seua) nearby. In the wet season it can be completely deserted and it will be just you, the monks and the giant trees in the jungle (don't approach the temple dogs though - I got bitten by one...)

To stay, take a boat from Krabi to the Raileh (or Railai - they spell it in about 5 different ways) peninsula nearby. This is a popular place to stay as it is only accessible by boat and has a secluded atmosphere. It also has one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen (Ao Phra Nang, where the sea princess' cave is, full of carved phalluses).

There are lots of bungalow operations here, one or two of them upmarket, with pools etc, some more basic, and some very funky hippy style places. Obviously if you are planning your wedding anniversary you will want everything booked in advance and so you will tend to get one of the more expensive places. In the rainy season though you can always just turn up and find a place without any problems. We found everything pretty cheap - bungalows and food - just a few pounds for a meal. There's lots to do in Rayley - watch monkeys and gibbons in the jungle, watersports, a cave, rock climbing, just chilling out. I envy you - it's so beautiful!

One slight word of warning: The rainy season can be really really wet in Thailand, and we spent several days going around soaked to the bone, which can put a bit of a dampener on your spirits - you wash things and they never dry, and the contents of your suitcase seem to absorb the dampness... Also if it is raining torrentially for 3 days there is less to do and you may start getting cabin fever. This may be one advantage of staying in a more upmarket place with an indoor bit (the place I stayed in - Viewpoint bungalows - was OK and had a laundry service, etc - but by now it's probably changed, this was several years ago, before the tsunami, etc, which temporarily ruined the area).

To sum up, I would avoid really basic places in the rainy season - we stayed in one on Phi-Phi and it was really a bit depressing, being wet all the time...

Enjoy yourselves!Has anyone been to Krabi in Thailand, where did you stay? cant find operator or beach hotel?
I would suggest Somkiet Buri Resort.

I ever been there one time, real nice and friendly, even just a maid. They treat us very nice.

Before we left, I said to the resort representative that, i will come back again in the near future, and you know what, I plan to go there around Septenber also, with husband and 4 years daughter.

If nothing change, we may see each other around that schedule. Can we ? ^_^
    yes

I want a destination wedding. Any ideas or cautions? Right way, wrong way? Beach, hotel?

How many people should be invited? Do we pay for air-fare? Lodging? Transportation? What time of month? Which month? Decorating ideas?I want a destination wedding. Any ideas or cautions? Right way, wrong way? Beach, hotel?
Wow - that's a LOT of questions - you'll need to spend some time thinking and planning! We can't possbly answer %26amp; plan your wedding for you! YOU should decide that!

There are some really good magazines now dedicated to Destination Weddings - http://www.destinationweddingmag.com/ind鈥?/a>

Take a look - get some ideas - make a plan %26amp; budget.

Good luck!I want a destination wedding. Any ideas or cautions? Right way, wrong way? Beach, hotel?
make sure that if ur going through a travel agency that they dont take advantage of u going on ahoneymoon by getting all expensive ways and whatnot...some things must be expensive but not all ways..like flights can be cheap and get u there just the same so dont let them put u on an expensive flight and such. My sister went through a travel agency and she and her husband are stuck with a $20000 honeymoon bill...all because the agency chose the most expensive ways and stuff. be careful and when u get into something make sure u know what ur getting into and keep a close eye on them. much luck!
Usually, destination weddings are smaller, mostly because it is more difficult for guests to attend. Who and what you pay for is up to you, it would be very nice to be able to pay for your immediate families to attend, and grandparents, it would be outstanding if you could pay for all of your guests, but that would probably get expensive, depending on your budget. A lot of the questions you have asked depend on the destination you choose and how far away it is from your home. If you are planning to go a long way away, invite those that are closest to you to the wedding, and have a larger reception when you return, or before you leave. The advantage of having it when you return is you get to show off your pictures! Best wishes!
    Nantucket. or Turks and Caicos.

Invite 50. 25 from each side. Pay for lodging. Have it on the beach
I'm not sure where you are starting off from, so I can't suggest a location. But if you are heading to a beach be very careful of which dress you buy! You don't want anything to heavy, or big and bulky that is hard to travel with or will make you too hot.

Generally, destination wedding are paid for by each individual guest (unless you are quite wealthy and can pay). You don't have to invite everyone you know. If people know you are going away they will understand if they don't receive and invite. Many people who have destinations weddings have a reception when they return to celebrate with those who couldn't attend.

Pick a warm and sunny destination for a dull time of year, maybe January or February...Valentine's day maybe? Or is that too cliche?

    Whatever you decide have fun!

    Hope that helped!

    Matthew
go to mauritius, its the best place in the world. just very far away from like everywhere
Expect only a few people. Most people cannot take off work to travel for a destination wedding. Many could use their vacation time but would rather use that time for something else. You might consider a wedding with only close relatives and then a nice reception about two weeks later back at home.
do it on a cruise, very cool
I'm getting married on a cruise ship and 2 of our good friends are going to be the only guests and witnesses. When we get back, we have a huge BBQ planned with all of my family and friends. There is no right or wrong way to get married as long as it is special to you
I had a friend who got married in Hawaii last October. The weather was beautiful, the location was great and the prices were good. There wasnt too many tourists so it was a perfect wedding. She and the groom paid for only the parents to attend (flight and hotel). But she was able to get a discount (since it was off season) on a specific number of rooms. Where ever you choose, you can let them know you will have family reserving X amount of rooms, what is the best deal they can give you?

Keep in mind that if you choose a destination wedding, you may have guests that just can't afford it. You can't have hurt feeling if your favorite cousin or sister doesn't have it in the budget to go on vacation and take off from work. Or doesn't want to splurge on a wedding vacation for her family.

We are invited to another (destination) wedding next month and we are getting comments from family on why we (my husband and I) dont want to take off from work for a few days, not to mention take the kids out of school. We can afford it, but it's really not a vacation for the guests, especially when the feel obligated to buy a gift too.

Regaring month, I would decied the location first, then choose a month that is not full of tourists, but still nice weather to enjoy or even have an outdoor ceremony. You are only expected to pay for the parents maybe grandparents if their alive. Lodging, give your guests plenty of choices. You will have to do the homework for them. Look for hotels near the wedding, from $$$$ all the way down to $. You will get a better response if you do the work.

Depending on your destination, that should help you choose who and how many to invite. (For ex) if you choose Hawaii or Cabos San Lucas (where your guests will be spending a week) dont go crazy inviting everyone. (They will think you are just looking for gifts) Invite close family (parents, siblings) maybe a few close friends thats it.

If you choose Las Vegas (for ex) then go crazy they are known for fly in weddings meaning your guests will have no problem coming in for just the weekend.

Remeber while this is the best time of your life right now, it doesn't set the precidence for forever. Meaning unless you are a Hilton and can splurge, splurge splurge dont go over board. Next year you will want hubby to take you away for your first anniversary and he will not be able to measure up to the wedding you planned. You dont want to sit around next year because he will say we spent too much on the wedding...

What does your future hubby say, what does he want?
The first thing I did was call the Place you want the ceremony to take place......find out what they have to offer.....then you can make some decisions.

    You invite who you want.

We paid for our parents.....everyone else paid for their own travel %26amp; hotel expenses.....I provided them information

If it's an Island....find out when their rainy season is....most islands have one.

The Hotel will give you all of this information that's why they should be the first phone call you make.
    greece or italy...

on the beach, not 2 big of a wedding. dont pay 4 every1s airfair. during the summer.
My mom is in the middle of planning one of these.....

Usually, with a destination wedding, you only invite your wedding party and key family members. You can have a huge reception with all family and friends when you get home. You don't have to pay for everything, but be sure your guests know this---many people may not be able to go if they have to foot the bill (Or may be unwilling to, since YOU invited THEM, although you can request their presence as your wedding gift---just don't expect anything else out of them)

You should, however, make reservations for their travel and lodging, even if you aren't paying for them. its the nice thing to do.

As for when, well it depends on where you're going. Check into that location's regular weather. You don't want to be doing a beach wedding in the rainy season or hurricane season. Likewise, you don't want 3 feet of snow or 100 degree weather.

For decorating, check into several places and see if they offer decorating. Some popular destinations have an area set aside justv for weddings and you can hire them to decorate for you before you get there.
idk where you live or where you want ur wedding but here r some ideas...

Shudders on the beach in Santa Monica is a beautiful hotel and i have been to 2 weddings there with both having fantastic receptions... Dont you dare pay for the airf-fare it is your special day and the people you invite should be glad to pay if they are really that important to you and vise versa.. for transportation busses are nice but if you have the money to spend get a limo you can never go wrong... as far as decor... and timing... spring is beautiful (obviously) flowers flowers flowers and just have fun !
Hey, we've just booked our thai Buddhist wedding in Chiang Mai Thailand- because it is so reasonable we are having great wedding favours hand made from silver- and paying for a pre wedding dinner at a 5 star hotel. Not sure on guest numbers yet, invites(designed by us and hand made in Thailand) went out last week. www.thailandweddings.com great site! We've invited 45 ish- expecting 20-25, no were definitely not paying fares- if my parents aren't even offering to help then there's no chance of helping others, my friend in Thailand has designed a tour, taken it to a tour company who has given us a quote which we've given to our guests. The night before and the night after are in a teak lodge for us! Flying of course! August next year- I'm a school teacher and we shall be out there for 6 weeks- leaning to dive- elephant treking- Thai cookery courses, white water rafting etc etc. The wedding company do everything- I mean every thing- clothes, clothes of guests if they want- flowers, transport, food, drinks I could go on forever!
You do not have to go five hundred miles away to have a great destination wedding . . sometimes the greatest places are just fifty or one hundred miles away from your front door.

First of all, and most importantly, you and your fiance need to decide if you want this to be ';a small, intimate affair'; or do you want every ';Tom, Dick, and Harry'; there.

    If you want something small and intimate then choose something that has vacation or holiday or good times written all over it. Make it a three day or five day ';mini vacation'; for everyone. ';Pack a good dress and your bathing suit!';

If you plan to invite ';a lot of people'; then you will have to select something that is ';affordable'; and easy to get to.

Resorts . . beaches . . bed and breakfasts . . and country inns solve a lot of problems for those couples who want to ';go away'; for their wedding and reception. You can have your ceremony on the beach . . on a hilltop . . in front of a roaring fireplace . . in a garden . . in a rustic chapel . . or on a deck filled with sunshine. You can get married at dawn or dusk. Resort managers and innkeepers love weddings! And many of them can arrange an officiant . . a wedding cake baker . . a photographer . . or a small band for your event. Actually they can do as little or as much as you wish!

Just remember if you go out of the country your guests will need a passport . . and that takes several weeks to obtain.

Destination weddings are memorable and meaningful.

And statistics prove destination weddings are the most cost efficient.

You do not have to pay for anyone's transportation or air fare or lodging unless you want to. Most destination weddings average 30 guests. There is no need to worry about decorations, how can you improve on a sunset at the beach?

If you want a bouquet or a few floral decorations then just make arrangments through the resort manager or innkeeper.

The best time to ';go away'; is early spring (April) through late fall (October).

I was thinking the same thing I am looking into Cancun Mexico. I live in NY and weddings here are sooo $$$$$ so instead of shelling out like 50k or more for one day i would rather make it a vacay for me and the guests then we can continue out honeymoon. The wedding packages are mostly all inclusive, cheap and includes a lot and its just plain romantic what more could you ask for. We are inviting close friends and fam so its not that expensive to pay for all of them and who ever else wants to come can pay for their tickets and room. Well sorry to go on and on but its a great idea
Destination weddings can be so romantic and can save you money, believe it or not. There are way too many points to bring up here, so I am going to point you to two websites. You will find everything you need here: http://www.beachwedding-guide.com and http://www.weddings-abroad-guide.com/wed鈥?/a>

    Good luck!
do not offer to pay for air fare. if you do, everyone will take it as an opportunity to come and have a free flight to an exotic locale. if you only offer to pay for some people's then the others may feel snubbed. (why'd she pay for tiffany's trip but not aunt sue's? we're family!)

i would consider hawaii if i were you. you won't have to worry about passports (for all guests) or other travel issues (shots for malaria, anyone? explosive diarrhea from the bad water?). you also won't have to deal with hotels, caterers, maps, street signs, and limo companies that aren't fluent in english. this will come into effetct as you make plans, secure dates, and sign contracts as well as when you navigate the town to arrive at the wedding on time.

hawaii has amazing beaches and the average temp year round is about 80 degrees so you don't have to worry about sweltering summers or frigid winters. the different islands have different types of attractions. the resorts offer beach ceremonies or church ceremonies with banquette room receptions. these resorts also have their own five-star restaurants and spa facilities on site. this will come in handy for the reception and activities on site for the bridesmaids. there are also world-famous golf courses and scuba, water skiing, and other activities so guests wouldn't have to worry about driving all over town or paying high fees off site.

you also won't have to worry about getting new soc. sec card and junk with a foreign marriage license, since it is still in the u.s. perhaps there would be red tape with a foreign license.

btw, i am a sociology student conducting an anonymous study on relationships. visit: http://geocities.com/sbiv37/marr
A co-worker of mine is planning a destination wedding in October 2008 and she is doing it in Sandals. She said it is about $3000 for her and hubby to be but if people want to go with them it is $2800 as a couple for 6 days 7 nights. So far she told me only 2 people are going with them which is her best friend and her cousin and their boyfriends. I don't think a lot of people have time off for that and that kind of money for something like that so I have been told.

OK i couldn't answer Ur question on the other one cos i couldn't edit my answer or email you, there is taxis which will cost you about 8 to 10 Tunisian dinars(1 拢 is about 2.3 Tunisian dinars),there is what they call louage and its a lot cheaper, but you ll have to change to another one once you get to sousse.they are all like min-buses.I'm Tunisian and i would get a taxi, but when you get a taxi make sure that they put the meter on they will try not to.but its ur right to make them do.and when they put it on make sure its on either 000a or 0001 that's the days rate cos it changes after 9 pm to time and half the rate and the meter will show 000b or 0002.and the hotel should have some sort of excursion to there cos they usually do zoos and parks so you should find one to the aqua palace.any question feel free.

Sanur Beach Hotel, Bali guest room bathrooms: are the showers over the bath?

I am travelling to Bali in July with an elderly person. She has recommended that we stay at the Sanur Beach Hotel. However, she is concerned that the rooms we stay in will have a shower over the bath, which won't be suitable as there is a too bigger step for her to get up over the side of the bath. Does anyone know whether the standard guest rooms have a separate shower and bath or just an all-in-one with shower over the top?Sanur Beach Hotel, Bali guest room bathrooms: are the showers over the bath?
Sanur Beach Hotel has shower that is not over the bathtub. What you need to do is to request that room when you make the booking. It is a deluxe room type.Sanur Beach Hotel, Bali guest room bathrooms: are the showers over the bath?

    Hope can help
i would think that most of the hotels in Bali have a shower over the bath, but you could always call in advance and make sure that you get a bathroom with a separate shower and bath.

If you are looking to meet new friends then St. Lawrence Gap on the south coast is the place to be. There are lots of bars and night clubs in that area as well as hotels.

Also from St. Lawrence Gap you are less than 10 minutes from Oistins (A small fishing town) which has plenty food and entertainment at a reasonable rate. Lots of fish dishes there if you like fish on your menu. What is the best beach hotel in barbados for two single women in early 40's?
