Disregard the media flicks about Burj al-Arab. There are many excellent hotels in Dubai, and you should not pay a fortune to stay. You still have to pay, but not as much as Burj al-Arab. Having said that, you will find that the best beach hotel in Dubai is Grosvenor House Dubai.

Jumeirah Beach hotel is another great hotel right next to it. The best beach hotel, in my personal opinion, is Al Qasr. There are also a wide array of great hotels right at the beach
