In San Diego, Pacific Shores is in Pacific Beach and isn't bad - most have kitchenettes and it has reserved parking - many cheaper hotels on the beaches don't. Diamond Head is pretty good but d/n have reserved parking. Both of these are under $200 a night.Any one know a nice cheap in price beach hotel in california?

The best way is to go to hotels.com and search thier database for hotels in california, then you can arrange them by price and you could pick which hotels suites your price range.
California is a huge state, you'll need to narrow down your search a little bit. You might be able to get some deals in central coast towns. If you belong to AAA, get a CA guide book and start looking through it to get a better idea of where you want to go and what you want to do. : )

My favorite is the new indian restaurant called shahjan, food is excellent, staff lovely and the owners are more than helpful..we had the buffet a few evenings whilst we were there last month, only 20 ytl each eat all you can !!
your hotel is right next to the beach and shah jan is first down your street to the promanade, turn left and you will see it within 100 yards..
there are tons of restaurants in that area I am sure you will find something you all enjoy....have a lovely holiday..

Its lovely there isnt any noise from the streets loads of tourists but quite ones. You should try to get out to Pee Pee Island where they filmed ';the Beach'; too its amazing.black hair

Has anyone ever stayed at the Castro Hotel or North Beach Hotel in Chinatown - North Beach in San Francisco?
Thinking of going to the States on holiday for 2 or 3 weeks and thinking about San Francisco. Btw, is San Francisco expensive? I mean eating out, cabs, nightlife (clubs/discos, pubs etc) I'd probably stick to the Chinatown - North Beach district.
